A. Glass:  Dual-pane windows insulate much better than single pane. When filled with argon gas, they can provide even higher insulation. Special glass treatments such as SunCoat® or other Low-E coatings take it a step further—holding in heat during the winter, resisting heat in the summer, and filtering damaging ultraviolet light (UV) that can fade interior furnishings.


B. Spacer:  A spacer keeps a window's dual glass panes the correct distance apart for optimal airflow between panes. Too much or too little airflow can affect the insulating glass efficiency. The design and material of the spacer also can make a big difference in the ability to handle expansion and contraction and thus reducing condensation.
